Dreamhack Winter 2015 Preview: Super Smash Bros Melee

From November 26th-29th in the town of Jönköping, Sweden, Mustafa "Ice" Akcakaya will be representing mYinsanity at Dreamhack Winter 2015 while competing in Super Smash Bros Melee!

Ice is coming off a strong performance at Eclipse, which was the 5th event in the European Smash Circuit 2015, where he placed 5th in the singles tournament and a solid 2nd place finish with Leffen in the doubles tournament.  He heads into Dreamhack Winter 2015 with eyes on the prize, and looks to improve upon his last Dreamhack result which was a 3rd place finish in London back in September of this year.

The Super Smash Bros Melee tournament at Dreamhack Winter 2015 will be a competitive one, as it will feature such notable entrants as Armada, Leffen, Mango, Hungrybox, and Westballz who are currently considered to be the top smashers in the world.  Ice will need to pull some tricks out of his hat and take his game to the next level if he wants to put some of that $30,000 prize pool in his pocket.

He had this to say about competing in Sweden this weekend…

In the last few tournaments, I’ve had the chance to play against a lot of good players who taught me a lot about my tendencies, habits, and the way I approach the game in general by either beating me or giving me a hard time. After thinking about solutions that address those weaknesses in my game play or mindset as a player, I came up with some ideas that I will try out this weekend.

I would say my confidence changes a lot depending on a lot of things, although by constantly reminding myself of the things that are important to me, I am able to be free from any concerns I may have while competing.

I will give it my best effort this weekend and hope to make my friends and fans at home and around the world, happy with my performance.
