Ice departs mYinsanity

After a thrilling year with mYinsanity, Mustafa “Ice” Akcakaya will be moving on in his Smash career.

One year ago, mYinsanity expanded for the first time into the Smash scene. Playing in almost twenty live events in the past twelve months representing mYinsanity, Ice brought much success to our team with multiple Top 3 finishes in both 1v1 and 2v2 matchups. We are very proud of his achievements, and his willingness to better himself as a player and as a person. It has been quite the ride for us expanding into the Smash scene, and Mustafa has been an excellent ice breaker for us.

Ice is one of the most loved Smash Melee players, with his excellent technical skills and his humble personality, it’s not hard to understand why he is such a fan favorite. mYinsanity has been blessed by countless Ice fans with highlight videos, articles, interviews and social media interaction. We would like to thank the community for all of your support during our first year, and just so you know, it won’t be our last!

Everyone here at mYinsanity wishes Ice luck in his professional career, and would like to thank him for his time spent with us. He helped to put us on the map in the Smash scene, and his hard work to do this will not be forgotten. Thank you!

I had a great time at mYinsanity and I’m thankful that they took good care of me during my time with the team . Leaving the team does not make me too sad, since I got to know some great people through this opportunity. Thanks for everything!

– Mustafa “Ice” Akcakaya

At mYinsanity we are strong believers in grassroots community-supported eSports, and with the ever increasing rise of Smash we were more than happy to support Ice for the last twelve months. During this time many changes happened both in the Smash scene and for Ice personally. While we are sad to see him go, we will cheer for him as he keeps pushing for the top.
