Jjakji and StarDust qualify for IEM

It has been an extremely busy week for our Korean star duo! Jung “jjakji” Ji Hoon qualified for WCS Premier, while he also led mYinsanity to the EES title alongside Son “StarDust” Suk Hee.

It did not end there however, as the European and North American qualifiers for the highly discussed $100,000 IEM World Championsip in Katowice were held this weekend.

The qualifiers were held on two separate days, with only the winner of each receiving an invite to the tournament in Poland. In the North American qualifier, jjakji had an amazing performance, defeating MaNa, Polt, teammate StarDust, GuMiHo and finally CJ Entus player Hydra, whom he beat in the final with a 3-0 score.

Perhaps inspired by jjakji’s success, StarDust went on to have an equally impressive performance in the European qualifier the following day. Going through BlinG, DIMAGA, Dear, HerO and then finally Revenge from Alien Invasion, he was able to secure the European invite to the World Championship.

This means that mYinsanity has claimed two out of three qualifying spots for the IEM World Championship, with Lee “Rogue” Byung Ryul taking the third after winning the Asian qualifier.
