Starcraft Roster Update

Over a month ago now, we made the announcement of our new Starcraft Team Manager, Mark “Yogmark” Mejidam. Now that he has had some time to settle in, he has begun to position our team for some long term success.

First off we would like to happily confirm that Théo PtitDrogo Freydière has signed a contract extension with us that will follow him well into 2017, where he hopes to improve on his results from this year. Although he has had some strong showings so far in 2016 at Dreamhack Leipzig and the Summer Championship in Montreal, he came up just short of the Global Finals Cutoff and therefore will spend the next few months practicing and participating in various tournaments in preparation for 2017.

PtitDrogo had this to say about continuing his career with mYinsanity…

I’m happy to continue my Starcraft career with mYi. Even if overall 2016 was a very good year for me I’m still very disappointed that I was so close to show the mYi tag at Blizzcon, and in the end could not do it. My goal for 2017 with mYi is to not make the same mistake twice.

Serral, Halcyon, PtitDrogo at Dreamhack Montreal 2016

Departing the team will be Serral, BlysK, and Winter all for various reasons. Serral will continue to study in Finland and therefore has chosen to sign with Ence eSports, a team that is also based in Finland. Serral originally came to mYinsanity from Ence back in February of 2014, and he will surely be provided the support he needs to balance the life of a student and aspiring professional gamer. Serral has huge potential, and you can almost guarantee him being a threat in the Starcraft WCS 2017. He said this to say of his time at mYinsanity…

I have been part of mYinsanity for two and half years now and I have enjoyed every moment. It has been a pleasure to work with them and I have had a lot of memorable moments during my stay. They have been really important for the development of my career. I really want to thank everyone in management along with all of the players, and especially our sponsors Logitech G, G2A, Bison, and eSportClothing for all of their support. I wish the best of luck to the whole organization!

Petri ‘Procyh’ Hämälä – CEO of ENCE eSports welcomes back Serral with open arms and had nothing but great things to say about mYinsanity and their returning player…

We are excited to welcome Joona back to our StarCraft II squad. We saw potential in him  during the early phase of his career and when he represented ENCE from 2013 to 2014. Since then he has represented Switzerland based organization mYinsanity and during that time collected important knowledge for his career, but now it’s time to come back home! We would like to thank mYinsanity for working with us to make this happen.

BlysK as shown after a night of grinding the KR ladder

BlysK will be enlisting into the Singapore military for two years, and will be retiring from eSports altogether.

It’s been an amazing journey, with not just mYi but eSports in general. I started off in a small town team in Singapore, visiting regional tournaments, then eventually being scouted by mYi and going to bigger and better tournaments. It was a heck of a ride. I’m quite sad how my career ended, not really being able to compete at tip top shape after going through a breakup. I never got the champion-closure-tournament that I’ve always wanted for myself.

I’ve moved on to YouTube content now, doing daily vlogs and perspective pieces. That being said, I’m never really OUT of eSports. The mYinsanity family is amazing and I’ll always be around. Hopefully after my military is done, I’ll be back in the game in variety of ways

Thank you so much to everyone who supported me, I’m crying a river inside as I end this. Huge shoutouts to mYi and Pengwin for picking me up. All the eSports peeps who’ve really changed my life, y’all know who you are 🙂 #EsportsFighting ! 😀 And may SC never die haha

Winter has since moved to Japan, where he is currently seeking a Japanese team to play for.

I am deeply sad about my departure from mYinsanity, but feel that it will be a great opportunity to improve and get a new fresh start. I want to thank mYinsanity for my time in the team as it in many ways became a family to me. I want to thank them for housing me for almost a year in Switzerland and for making many of my dreams possible. I wish them all the best in the future and hopefully our paths will cross again.

Joining the mYinsanity family is Aleksandar “Beastyqt” Krstić and Thomas “ShaDoWn” Labrousse! Beastyqt is a regular streamer who has been in attendance of many online cups and tournaments. He brings many years of experience to the team, and we hope to see him improve his play through his persistence and dedication. You can catch him this weekend playing in the WESG 2016 – Europe & CIS Qualifier where we wish him luck representing mYinsanity for the first time! He had this to say about joining the mYinsanity family…

I’ve been looking for a new team for a few months now and I finally found a team that I am more than happy to be a part of! mYi is a great team that can help me improve my overall skill and I look forward to visiting the mYi team house in the upcoming months.

ShaDoWn has been playing competitive Starcraft since 2013, and has the same motivating force driving him to succeed as Beastyqt does. We look forward to him participating in team leagues and streaming for us while learning from one of the best Protoss players in the world, PtitDrogo. He said this about joining mYinsanity…

Joining mYi is a great opportunity for my eSport career. My goals are to start streaming regularly and to qualify again for the WCS.  I am practicing really hard for that and I will do my best. Please cheer for me!

With these moves we take the first step into rebuilding the mYinsanity Starcraft division into one of the best teams in Europe, a title we once had and would like back. This will not be accomplished overnight however, and we would like to thank all of our fans that have stood by us, your undying devotion to mYi will be rewarded.
