Tavern Brawl: Clash of the Minions!

No time for cowards, soldier! Playing minions gives them Charge and Taunt! Ok, here's the Mulligan... go, go, GO!

This week’s Tavern Brawl is pure fun and pure… FACE! We prefer to say Taunt-Face, since as indicated, all minions you play get Charge but also have Taunt. A few of decks have risen to fame since the release of the brawl such as Paladins, due to their buffing spells and divine shields such as Blessing of Kings or Seal of Champions.  Warrior decks are also strong mainly thanks to the Bolster card.

What has really made the headlines is the Warlock deck that can burst over 90 damage in one turn, destroying your opponents.  Onto the deck!

This deck features insane synergies with Brann Bronzebeard and his double Battlecry bonus. For instance:

Brann Bronzebeard + Molten Giant + Youthful Brewmaster (into Molten) + Void Terror (devour Molten and Brew) = 2 + 8 + 3 + 8 + 25 = 46 damage

If you happen to have another Void Terror in hand and you have played the Moltens for 0 mana then by devouring your buffed Void Terror you’ll have an added 56 damage, reaching at 102 damage in one turn.
Needless to say that if you already had Brann Bronzebeard or other minions on board, then you could multiply this damage with other cards topping over 120 damage in total.

Another great combo is the Eerie Statue or Ancient Watcher silenced by an Ironbeak Owl. Even if you don’t manage to draw the Owl, then you simply have two very strong Taunts on board for just a few mana crystals.

If the RNG gods are not on your side in some matches then you can control the board until the right combo arrives. That’s where Shadowflame comes into play, and can deal great amounts of damage, clearing an entire board.
For the early stages of the game you have Explosive Sheep, which can also be really helpful as well.

As for substitutions, you could swap a few cards such as the Mortal Coils for Flame Imps, Eerie Statues for Piloted Shredders or any other card that feels appropriate, as long as the main combo with Brann remains intact. Set your imagination free.
